Church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste-de-Grenelle (3)

The Church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste-de-Grenelle was built between 1824 and 1828, under the reign of Charles X, by architect Étienne-Hippolyte Godde, then architect of the City of Paris — the Diocese of Paris, for its part, credits a certain Bontat. It served the new district of Beaugrenelle, laid out by Jean-Léonard Violet and Alphonse Letellier on the former Grenelle plain. Its first stone was laid in 1827 by the king's granddaughter. Attached to Paris when Grenelle was annexed in 1860, it stands on place Étienne-Pernet, in the 15th arrondissement. Its neo-Gothic bell tower contrasts with an interior inspired by ancient Roman basilicas. Enlarged between 1924 and 1926, the church houses mural paintings by Henri Nozais depicting the life of Saint John the Baptist, and a high altar made from fragments of Notre-Dame de Paris's former altar, removed during Viollet-le-Duc's restoration. 

Parc André Citroën (8)

Located in Paris's 15th arrondissement, on the Left Bank of the Seine, Parc André Citroën covers 14 hectares on the site of the former André Citroën automobile factory, founded in 1915 and dismantled in the 1980s. Opened in 1992, it was designed by landscape architects Gilles Clément and Alain Provost together with architects Patrick Berger, Jean-François Jodry and Jean-Paul Viguier. A vast central lawn slopes down toward the river, flanked by two glass greenhouses housing Mediterranean and exotic plants. The park also includes six themed serial gardens, a wild "garden in movement," a canal and reflecting pools. Since 1999, a tethered balloon, the Ballon de Paris Generali, has offered aerial views of the capital from up to 150 metres. 

Tour Montparnasse & Montparnasse train station (27)

In the heart of the Montparnasse district, on the border of the 14th and 15th arrondissements, the station and the tower of the same name form a single urban complex. Opened in 1840 and rebuilt in 1852, the old station, where General Leclerc received the surrender of General von Choltitz on 25 August 1944, was demolished in 1969. On its site, above the Montparnasse-Bienvenüe metro station, rises the tower, built between 1969 and 1973 by Jean Saubot, Eugène Beaudouin, Urbain Cassan and Louis de Hoÿm de Marien. Standing 210 metres tall with 59 floors, it remains the tallest building within the city limits of Paris. The present station, reworked in 1990 for the TGV Atlantique, is topped by the Jardin Atlantique.
