Description:
Delhi, India. The Red Fort was built between 1638 and 1648 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Listed as a World Heritage Site since 2007, it is one of India's biggest tourist attractions, attracting millions of visitors every year. It is also the largest monument in Delhi. The Red Fort covers 103 hectares and is encircled by 2.41 km of defensive walls ranging in height from 18 to 33 metres. The "Hira Mahal" pavillon was built in 1842 with white marble.
