Delhi, India. The Red Fort was built between 1638 and 1648 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Listed as a World Heritage Site since 2007, it is one of India's biggest tourist attractions, attracting millions of visitors every year. It is also the largest monument in Delhi. The Red Fort covers 103 hectares and is encircled by 2.41 km of defensive walls ranging in height from 18 to 33 metres. The "Diwan i Khas", Hall of Private Adiences, was a reception hall where the emperor received courtiers and state guests. It was built in 1648. The interior is built from marble. The lower parts of the inner marble pillars are inlaid with floral designs. Here, the restoration of part of the ceiling.
