Designed by architect Arnolfo di Cambio (1240 1310), Santa Maria del Fiore is one the largest churches in Europe: 153 meters long, 41.98 meters large. The dome, conceived by architect Filippo Brunelleschi (1377 1446), is still the largest brick dome in the world. The Cathedral is on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1982.
