Description:
Paris France. In the times of Covid. Bars and restaurants are not allowed to open during the second lockdown. The historic brasserie "Fouquet's", at the corner of Avenue des Champs-Élysées and Avenue George V, is closed with reinforced metal sheets that were put up after the restaurant was trashed during a "Yellow Vest" demonstration on March 16th, 2019. The "Fouquet's Paris" brasserie is located at 99 avenue des Champs Élysées in the 8th arrondissement (borough) of Paris. It is on the list of historical monuments since 1998. Formerly known as "The Criterion", it became "The Criterion-Fouquet's" after it was bought by Louis Fouquet, a lemonade vendor, in 1899. Léopold Mounier transformed it in to a luxury brasserie after he took over in 1913.
