Baalbek, Lebanon. Archaeological site of the ancient city. The Temple of Bacchus is one of the best-preserved temples in the Roman world. Although smaller than the Temple of Jupiter Heliopolitanus, the Temple of Bacchus is nevertheless one of the largest Roman temples, with a surface area of almost 2,500 square metres.
