Description:
Tannourine, Lebanon. The Balaa Pothole. Also called "The Three Bridges Chasm in Balaa" is 250 meters deep and 260 meters wide. Two bridges are formed in the middle of the pothole. With the upper part, when seen from the opposite side, the viewer has an impression of three bridges. During the snow melt a cascade (90 to 100 meters) fals behind the bridges. The chasm has been "discovered" by french speleologist Henri Coiffait in 1952.
